Bisphenol A (BPA) is an organic synthetic compound with chemical formula (CH3) 2C (c6h4oh) 2. It belongs to bisphenol phenylmethane derivatives and has two hydroxyphenyl groups. It is a colorless solid, soluble in organic solvents, but insoluble in water (solubility in water at 83 ℃ is 0.344 wt%).
